US DEPARTMENT OF STATE

The application window for the February 2023 Foreign Service Officer Test is now OPEN through February 2, 2023.  Testing will take place from Feb. 4-11. For more information, see the website here: https://careers.state.gov/career-paths/worldwide-foreign-service/officer/fso-test-information-and-selection-process/

Internships and Fellowships:

The following programs require U.S. citizenship to apply.

  • The Rangel Summer Enrichment Program for 2023 is accepting applications through February 15, 2023.  This six-week program is designed to provide undergraduate students with a deeper appreciation of current issues and trends in international affairs, a greater understanding of career opportunities in international affairs, and the enhanced knowledge and skills to pursue such careers. This program encourages the application of members of minority groups historically underrepresented in the Foreign Service, women, and those with financial need.  Applicants must be full-time undergraduate students, with at least sophomore status on the date of the application deadline and must have a cumulative grade point average of at least 3.2 on a 4.0 scale at the time of application.

  • Applications for the Foreign Affairs Information Technology (FAIT) Fellowship 2023 cohort are being accepted September 12, 2022 through February 3, 2023.  Students must be enrolled full-time in an IT-related bachelor’s degree program OR seeking admission in an IT-related master’s degree program at a U.S.-based accredited institution and have a cumulative 3.2 GPA or higher on a 4.0 scale.
  • I’ve attached a flyer on the U.S. Digital Corps, a relatively new U.S. government fellowship focused on recent graduates in IT, specifically in software engineering, data science and analytics, product management, design, and cybersecurity. I don't have additional details on it, but if anyone is interested in it and wants more information, let me know.
